1. Introduction

Welcome to Deby – Debt & IOU Manager Pro (the “Application” or “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices. This Privacy Policy applies to the Application operated by Ricardo V (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and describes our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information in connection with the Application. By using the Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Application.

2. Information We Collect

2.3 Information Processed by Third-Party Services

Receipt Scanning (OCR Feature)

When you use the “Scan to Split” feature to scan receipts:
  • What is Sent: Only the receipt image you explicitly choose to scan is transmitted to Google’s Gemini AI service for text recognition (OCR – Optical Character Recognition).
  • Purpose: This transmission is necessary for the core functionality of the receipt scanning feature. The image is processed to extract text and item information from the receipt.
  • Third-Party Service: This processing is performed by Google’s Gemini API, which operates according to Google’s own privacy policies and terms of service.
  • Data Handling:
    • Images are sent only when you actively use the scanning feature
    • Processing occurs on Google’s infrastructure
    • Google may temporarily store or cache images as part of their service operations
    • We do not use this data for advertising, tracking, or any purpose other than providing the OCR functionality
    • The extracted text is returned to your device and stored locally
  • Your Control: You are not required to use this feature. If you do not use receipt scanning, no images are transmitted to any third party.
